Job Summary

First American Title’s NCS finance team is a team of very motivated, intelligent & business savvy professionals.  The team is proactive, however value the ability to change direction &/or modify original assumptions quickly.  With so many moving parts, the emphasis on structure, process rigor & due diligence is essential to sustain a high level of performance, while maintaining exceptional data integrity.

The Finance Team seeks a focused, ambitious financial professional to aid us in our efforts to provide accurate, efficient and timely financial planning and monthly review of fiscal results.  As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will support essential aspects of financial planning, measurement, and control for the National Commercial Services business unit. You will also have additional involvement with special projects related to business development, strategic growth and ad hoc analyses.  The ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables efficiently and effectively is required.  The successful Senior Financial Analyst will comfortably interact with all levels of management and clearly present the process and output of complicated analytics.  This is a challenging position that offers the rewards of a fast-paced environment, great compensation benefits with outstanding opportunity for professional growth.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Sales Financial Analyst, you’ll be part of a hybrid role which supports both the sales commissions process and financial planning activities of the National Commercial Services Division.  You’ll partner with various stakeholders to help with the integration and maintenance of Incent, our new commissions platform, as well as ensure timely and accurate submission of commission payments.  You’ll actively participate in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) as well as engage in special projects and ad hoc work as needed.  This position will be part of a divisional finance team reporting to the Finance Senior Manager.

This is a hybrid role (anticipate 1 day per week onsite at Corporate Headquarters in Santa Ana, CA); also open to considering 100% remote.


  • Responsible for all aspects of day-to-day commission administration in Xactly Incent resulting in accurate and timely commission payments
  • Ensure ongoing maintenance of Xactly Incent tool throughout the plan year to reflect updates to sales compensation data related to new hires, promotions, terminations, and other headcount movements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve calculation and/or data errors within the Xactly Incent
  • Respond to compensation related inquiries from internal stakeholders in an effective and timely manner
  • Proactively identify issues and make recommendations for new programs and process improvements

Financial Planning

  • Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts using historical trends as well as changes in the market and business environments
  • Develop and maintain monthly and quarterly analyses, reports, and presentations ensuring the accuracy of the information and providing recommendations
  • Partner closely with accounting and functional teams on month-end close and accruals
  • Create financial models to analyze profitability, what-if analysis, and scenario planning

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

  • Mathematics & Analytics – ability to understand, manipulate and solve problems using mathematics on large data sets
  • Computer Skills – advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Problem Solving – identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Organizing, Planning, & Prioritizing Work – developing specific goals and execution plans for the completion of tasks
  • Excellent Communication Skills – both written and verbal – ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, cross-functional business leaders and peers
  • Critical Thinking – use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

Typical Education  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Typical Range of Experience  

  • 5+ years of experience in a financial/accounting capacity
