Job Summary

First American is reinventing the commercial title industry from within. We’re looking for a unique, ambitious individual who wants to join an early-stage operation within a larger, Fortune 500 organization. You will initially be rolling up your sleeves to collaboratively develop a new, end-to-end title operations process while identifying product and technical opportunities to enhance the customer experience and operational efficiency of our new process. Then, you will support bringing this vision to life from ‘strategy to execution’.

Essential Functions:

At a high-level, you will inform solutions and direction by connecting the dots, mapping the operations (people, process, and technology) to identify impact, document current state capabilities and help reimagine a future state that will provide high value to our customers. You will collaborate with cross functional teams within business and technology to drive change, evolve processes, and provide information through Research and Analysis to inform strategy and direction. Each day will look different, but expect to do the following:

  • Lead mapping and analysis of current state business processes, impacted teams, associated value streams, business capabilities and impacted Product Capabilities and technologies
  • Contribute to and maintain a comprehensive Business Capability Map and other artifacts (i.e., process maps, context diagrams, capability maps, etc.) for the division that demonstrate how the organization’s capabilities, people, process, product, and technologies interact
  • Manage multiple, concurrent deadline-driven initiatives, collaborating with required teams to ensure efforts are aligned, action items are tracked and project timelines met 
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to analyze business operations, identify areas of operational efficiencies and recommend solutions aligned with business objectives
  • Collaborate with required teams like Project, Research, Product or Change Management during research and implementation
  • Infuse data into your analysis and recommendations
  • Deploy Business Architecture methodologies to identify areas of improvement and initiates action by supporting development of Project and Product roadmaps
  • Synthesize and communicate findings to senior project stakeholders using appropriate reports and tools (oral and written) to enable decision making
  • Translate and document business requirements into system definitions and solutions. Identifies and documents non-functional requirements
  • Completes required testing and training of business/application solutions, to support application design & development
  • Act as a strategic partner and liaison between the user community and the technical applications development staff (may include offshore teams), to help support and resolve customer issues/problems

  • Strong commercial title and escrow knowledge on a national level a plus
  • Advance skillsets in MS Office suite of products

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Business Management/ Information Technology or equivalent experience in planning /implementing Business or IT initiatives.
  • Formal training/certifications in Business Analysis (CBAP), Business Architecture (CBA) , Business Process Management (BPM), Agile/Scrum are welcome
  • Typically have 6-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, or in IT/business strategy consulting
  • Program management skills valued
