What We Do

Performs substantive legal work under the guidance and supervision of an in-house attorney for a mortgage servicing company. Provides assistance to support lawyers by preparing, reviewing, and editing contracts, including master services agreements, statements of work, servicer notices, subservicing agreements, powers of attorney, confidentiality agreements, and other agreements. Maintains a file system for powers of attorney and executed agreements. Cooperates with operational leaders to finalize contact terms. Assists operational leaders to understand contractual rights and obligations. This will primarily be a work-from-home position, however occasional visits to ServiceMac’s Fort Mill office will be required.

Essential Functions

  • Drafting, reviewing, and editing contracts
  • Working with operations leaders to review and finalize contract terms
  • Drafting legal notices such as contract termination letters and demand letters
  • Managing client power of attorney library
  • Maintaining an electronic library of executed agreements.
  • Educating operations leaders on contractual rights and obligations
  • Provides other administrative support to legal department

  • Performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involves limited responsibility.
  • Some evaluation, originality or ingenuity is required.

  • Work is reviewed and supervised by attorneys

  • No responsibility for supervision of others




Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

  • Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization
  • Intermediate research and summation skills
  • Strong PC skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to corporations
  • Detail oriented
  • Contract knowledge
  • Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation, human relations, and organizational skills


Typical Education

  • College degree preferred
  • Completed paralegal program


Typical Range of Experience

  • Typically has 3-5 years professional experience


License or Certification

  • Paralegal certification

The pay range for this role is $65,550.00 - $87,375.00

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting.  Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
