Provides underwriting support and expertise to support the completion of Assumptions credit qualification in accordance with FHA, VA, USDA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac requirements and in compliance with applicable federal and state laws.HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
- Perform underwriting reviews for assumption transactions which require credit qualification..
- Utilizes underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with applicable investor, agency, federal and client requirements. .
- Provides guidance and collaborate with assumptions processors and other Land Transaction team members in order to process underwriting swiftly and accurately. .
- Incorporate changing guidelines and requirements as they occur.
- Perform manual underwriting in the absence of an LOS (Loan Origination System) or an underwriting system/tool (such as AUS or DU)
- Adhere to required credit decision timelines.
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Required Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure (or prior certification/license)
- High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5-7 years title underwriting experience.
- Must be familiar with real estate law.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
- Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of originations and assumptions underwriting.
- General knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to mortgage originations and servicing.
- Ability to collaborate and act decisively.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills, able to multi-task, prioritize, and follow up in a timely manner.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Requires abstract thinking and creative solutions.
The pay range for this role is $86,675.00 - $115,550.00
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
