Join First American Homebuilders as a Principal Escrow Advisor and play a pivotal role in guiding our escrow and title operations with clarity, compliance, and strategic insight. In this role, you will: •Support escrow operational staff by establishing, communicating, and clarifying governance standards for escrow transactions, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company underwriting and auditing guidelines. •Serve as a trusted advisor to internal client groups, delivering expert information and training on escrow procedures and regulatory compliance. •Review operational data and documentation to identify trends, evaluate performance, and recommend best practices to management for continuous improvement. •Collaborate and guide product development teams on Business Requirements for Escrow and Title technology tools geared towards HSD- focused solutions. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about driving excellence in escrow governance.How You’ll Contribute
As a Principal Escrow Advisor, you’ll be a trusted resource for escrow and title teams, providing expert guidance and strategic support across a wide range of transactions and operational needs. You’ll help shape the governance of escrow practices and ensure teams are equipped with the tools, training, and insights they need to succeed.
Your contributions will include:
- Consulting with escrow and title officers on complex transactions—advising on structure, documentation, and applicable guidelines.
- Developing and delivering technical training to escrow staff and partnering with training teams to enhance learning programs.
- Collaborating with advisory groups and underwriting teams to create and communicate state-specific guidelines and best practices.
- Exercising independent judgment and broad expertise to assess risk and make decisions beyond standard company policies.
- Acting as a subject matter expert (SME) for escrow systems and programs, including FAST enhancements and FACC processes.
- Reviewing and auditing escrow documents for accuracy, relevance, and usability, and contributing regularly to company newsletters.
- Advising on specialized escrow types such as Land Acquisitions, Multi-State takedowns and new home/subdivision transactions.
- Staying current on laws, market trends, and industry issues to provide timely and informed guidance.
- Leading resolution efforts for critical issues and identifying gaps that require new training or updated guidelines.
- Managing special projects such as regulatory responses, legal documentation requests, office closures, and statistical audits.
- Using your extensive industry knowledge to drive operational excellence, with wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches.
What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring deep escrow expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead through influence and insight—along with a readiness to travel and support teams across regions.
- High school diploma required; some college preferred
- 10+ years of experience as an Escrow Officer or in a related role
- Extensive knowledge across multiple escrow types, including commercial, bulk, mobile home, and new home/subdivision transactions
- National expertise is a plus, but not required
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) on escrow systems and programs, with proficiency in tools like FAST and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively in diverse scenarios
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage complex, multi-layered projects proactively
- Willingness to travel as needed to support training, audits, and special projects across multiple locations
Pay Range: $95,350 – $127,125 annually
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
