What We Do

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriting Assistant with a strong background in supporting homebuilders, developers, and land bankers. This role requires expertise in resolving complex title issues, managing multistate transactions, and serving as a trusted resource for customers throughout the development and closing process. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates deep technical title knowledge, and brings a customer-first mindset to building long-term relationships.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary resource for homebuilders, developers, and land bankers, addressing title issues and guiding them through the closing process.
  • Prepare accurate settlement statements, title policies, commitments, proformas, invoices, and correspondence.
  • Manage client communication via phone and email, serving as a professional, customer-facing representative for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Organize and prioritize daily tasks, leveraging offshore resources for clerical support.
  • Order additional searches, request documents, and process check requests and premium splits as needed.
  • Follow up on recorded documents, surveys, PZR requests, lien charts, and overage refunds.
  • Provide direct support to the underwriting team on complex transactions, including new construction projects and mechanics lien matters.
  • Assist in land acquisitions and closing deals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness throughout the process.
  • Serve as a knowledge resource to other assistants and contribute to a supportive, collaborative work environment.
  • Take on challenging transactions with growing independence, with a clear path to learn and grow into expanded responsibilities.

What You’ll Bring

  • College diploma: bachelor’s degree preferred (Paralegal Certificate a plus).
  • 3–5 years of National title/real estate experience preferred with significant exposure to builder/developer transactions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of underwriting real estate transactions and issuance of title insurance policies.
  • Familiarity with real estate law, surveys, subdivision, and mapping (mechanics lien and new construction experience strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge of mechanic’s lien laws and their impact on title.
  • Proven ability to support across multiple states, with preference for experience in Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Maryland, Washington and beyond.
  • Strong knowledge of platting, lot takedowns, and land development processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with multistate title practices, especially in FL, TX, TN, VA, AZ, CO, NV, MD, WA.
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable using technology to streamline work efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through independently.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to act decisively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to professional growth in the title and real estate services industry while contributing to a supportive, team-oriented culture.
  • Proven ability to build trust and long-term partnerships with homebuilders, developers, and land bankers.

Pay Range: $30.14-$40.18 hourly
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting.  Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
