What We Do

Examine titles to determine legal condition of primarily residential property title. Summarize recorded documents which affect the condition of title to the property. Works independently and uses experience to examine title to real property, ranging in complexity, to determine status and establish chain of title. * This is a remote position that can be based anywhere within the United States but related experience in NY is a must. NJ experience is a plus.

What You'll Do:

• Performs title examination and examines the chain of title for a wide range of title orders, primarily residential
• Collect data from informational searches, consolidate data, conduct an analysis, and summarize results into report. Create and document requirements and exceptions based on results from analysis.
• Abstracts and analyzes records, such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books, to determine ownership and legal restrictions and to verify legal description of property and completeness of records
• Resolves most issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in the title documentation
• Prepares initial title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelines using Word and/or online database.
• Prepares and reviews reports for accuracy
• May provide interpretation within established guidelines

What You'll Bring

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years directly related experience (New York reading/exam)
• New Jersey related experience is a plus
• Detail / quality orientation
• Analytical review skills
• Research skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Communication skills, both verbal and written
• Customer service orientation
• Standard MS skill set
• Proficient with company operating systems
• Knowledge of legal terms helpful

Salary Range: $20.72 - $34.53 Hourly

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting.  Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
