At First American Title, we are on the hunt for driven and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Title Officer. And guess what? We welcome Gen Z candidates who may not have any prior knowledge of the title and escrow industry - because we believe in your potential and are here to provide comprehensive training! Imagine diving into the world of historical research, uncovering the fascinating stories behind properties, and playing a key role in ensuring smooth real estate transactions. As a Title Assistant, you'll be immersed in researching property records, tracing ownership histories, and resolving complex title issues. Your meticulous work will directly impact the success of real estate deals. This role is an in-office position, and you'll be working five days a week in our beautiful Portland office, surrounded by our talented and fun team! We are thrilled to welcome a new member to our dynamic group, and we believe that you'll find our office environment to be both inspiring and enjoyable.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Conducting in-depth research of public records, including deeds, mortgages, liens, easements, and other encumbrances

  • Analyzing historical property data to determine the chain of title and identify any potential title defects

  • Assisting title examiners and officers with compiling clear and concise title reports

  • Utilizing title plant databases, county websites, and physical archive records where applicable

  • Supporting curative efforts by gathering documentation and communicating with appropriate parties to clear title issues

  • Maintaining organized records and adhering to company and industry compliance standards

We’re on the lookout for individuals who have a keen interest in research, possess exceptional attention to detail, and have a knack for analytical thinking. If you have prior experience in title, real estate, legal, or research-focused roles, that's a plus! But even if you don't, your passion for historical or legal research will be your ticket to success.
