What We Do

We are looking for a Product leader to drive the vision, strategy, and execution for our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) within our Platform Enablement organization. At First American, we believe that Platform Enablement is the key to unlocking our engineers' full potential – and this role will serve as the voice of our internal developer customers, ensuring their needs and experiences directly shape how we prioritize and evolve our platform.     Our goal is to provide a cohesive, intuitive developer experience that abstracts complexity and accelerates delivery across the enterprise. Our Platform provides foundational capabilities that support building, operating and maintaining software at scale — including deployment infrastructure, automation tooling, observability, and service onboarding experiences. We aim to deliver a best-in-class developer experience that minimizes undifferentiated heavy lifting and enables developers to ship value with speed, security and confidence.   *This is a remote role

What You’ll Do:

  • Set the vision and strategy for our Internal Developer Platform — defining a north star experience that enables developers to onboard, deploy, observe, and manage services with minimal friction.
  • Deeply understand and triangulate across customer needs, product analytics, and industry best practices to evolve our platform portfolio and maximize business and customer impact.
  • Partner closely with leadership, senior management and engineering teams to define and align with stakeholders on the platform strategy and drive adoption across the enterprise.
  • Develop product roadmaps in partnership with relevant product and engineering teams across multiple platform areas that deliver integrated, end-to-end developer experiences.
  • Define and own key metrics such as time to onboard, deploy frequency, incident recovery, and developer satisfaction (e.g., via DevEx surveys or platform telemetry).
  • Create strong partnerships with First American engineers and champion feedback loops to continuously improve our platform and uncover new pain points.
  • Drive prioritization with a platform mindset — balancing foundational investments, cross-cutting capabilities, and high-impact enablers that benefit the broader enterprise.
  • Ensure that our product evolution thoughtfully addresses product lifecycle and the adoption/migration experience, reduces fragmentation and provides clear guidance and recommendations to First American engineers.
  • Establish platform-wide communication norms, changelog practices, and documentation standards that support scalable adoption
  • Help evolve Platform Enablement’s customer engagement model, communication strategy, prioritization and planning/road mapping practices.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in Technical Product Management, ideally in developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, or internal tooling.
  • 5+ years of product leadership experience managing PMs across infrastructure, platform, or internal developer experience teams.
  • Proven ability to define and deliver platform roadmaps and strategies that balance long-term vision with near-term outcomes.
  • Strong technical fluency and empathy for engineering workflows — from service creation to deployment to incident resolution.
  • Strategist who excels at aligning platform investments to enterprise-wide outcomes.
  • A healthy blend of deep technical knowledge with a customer-focused mindset and empathy.
  • Demonstrated passion for developer platforms, developer experience, tools, workflows, and/or infrastructure.
  • Experience with platforms like Backstage, Internal Developer Portals, CI/CD pipelines, observability stacks, or service mesh architectures.
  • Systems and platform thinker that can connect customer use cases, end-to-end journey flows and technology solutions and think holistically about the developer experience.
  • Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success.
  • Leverages product intuition and judgment to solve problems and make decisions without perfect information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; timely communication with clear expectations.

Pay Range: $166,750 - $222,325 Annually

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting.  Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
