We are looking for the best-of-the-best technology experts who will envision, design, build, and deliver innovative solutions that provide exceptional experiences and lasting value to our customers. First American is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, robustness, and performance of First American mission-critical software systems. An ideal candidate will maintain and monitor the functionalities of our in-house software applications and offer timely support to integration partners as well as end-users. The ideal candidate will exhibit a growth and automation mindset.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide support for in-house built software applications, addressing bugs, errors, and performance issues.

• Address application architecture needs, pushing towards solutions that are fault-tolerant, resilient, and easy to manage.

• Analyze and enhance software functionality, including working with developers and database administrators to design efficient database schemas, stored procedures, and queries.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and performance.

• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.

• Document and implement incident response processes and procedures to drive consistent mitigation and remediation in case of failure.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting system availability.

• Identify opportunities for automation and implement runbooks and utilities to streamline tasks.

What You’ll Bring:

• Experience building and supporting software applications.

• Proficiency in scripting languages for automation.

• Familiarity with software development methodologies and version control systems.

• Knowledge of database systems, SQL, and web technologies.

• Familiarity with debugging tools and methodologies.

• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.

• Experience with observability tooling, application performance monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, and log management.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms and container orchestration.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and debug complex software issues.

Ideally, you will also have experience with:

• Cloud Computing Platform: AWS (Lambda, EC2, ECS, EKS, Fargate, RDS, S3, Dynamo DB, SQS)

• Observability: Open Telemetry (OTEL), Grafana, ELK Stack (APM, ElasticSearch, RUM, Synthetics, Uptime) AWS CloudWatch and X-Ray

• Programming/Scripting: C# .NET, PowerShell, Python, YAML, BASH

• Databases: SQL Server

• Code Repos: Azure Repos, GitHub

• Infrastructure as code: Terraform, Ansible

Pay Range: $135,000 - $150,000 Annually

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
