What We Do

The Group Product Manager will lead the strategy, development, and execution of title data and workflow products within DataTrace. This role is responsible for shaping the product vision and roadmap, aligning cross-functional teams, and delivering solutions that materially improve the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of title solutions. This is a high-impact role operating in an accuracy-critical, regulated environment. The Group Product Manager will apply modern data and AI-assisted capabilities to evolve title products while ensuring trust, compliance, and operational effectiveness. This role is intended for a senior product leader with prior experience in the title industry or closely adjacent public-records or regulated data domains. The ideal candidate has owned complex data products end-to-end and can operate with minimal ramp up time. This is a hands-on, player-coach role. While responsible for leading a product team, this leader is expected to remain deeply involved in complex product decisions, prioritization, and system-level tradeoffs.

What You’ll Do – Product Leadership & Strategy

  • Own and evolve the product vision and multi-year roadmap for title data and workflow products in alignment with company strategy and customer needs.
  • Define the strategy for expanding title data platforms, including ingestion, integration, and normalization across diverse public-record and title data sources.
  • Chart the course for the future of the business with modern data, AI-assisted workflows, data extraction, and workflow automation.
  • Prioritize initiatives that improve data quality, scalability, operational efficiency, and overall business impact.
  • Identify new opportunities in the real estate, title, and data landscape to expand market share and customer value across the title lifecycle.
  • Partner with executive leadership on product direction, financial and strategic objectives, and go-to-market decisions.

Execution & Delivery

  • Lead the product team to build and deliver production-grade title data and workflow solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data, and design teams to deliver scalable, reliable systems and workflows.
  • Ensure clarity and alignment around product requirements, success metrics, and feedback loops to drive continuous improvement.
  • Define and operationalize quality standards and review processes that improve trust and reduce downstream friction.
  • Guide vendor and partner strategies related to data providers, platforms, and supporting services.

Customer & Market Focus

  • Engage with title insurers, agents, underwriters, abstractors, and operational stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities.
  • Stay current on title industry practices, policy structures, and regulatory considerations to ensure product relevance and differentiation.
  • Translate insights into actionable product strategies that drive adoption, retention, and expansion, focusing on measurable outcomes.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Mentor and grow a high-performing product team, including product managers and domain-aligned subject matter experts.
  • Champion a customer-first mindset and pragmatic product practices across the organization.
  • Drive alignment across departments to ensure smooth go-to-market, customer onboarding, and ongoing enablement for title-specific workflows.

What You’ll Bring – Must Haves

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with 1–3+ years leading teams of product managers.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, high-impact products and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to set long-term product strategy while remaining closely engaged in execution and delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and stay closely involved in execution and iteration.
  • Data-driven decision making, with experience defining and analyzing metrics that inform product direction and prioritization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders around product strategy, priorities, and tradeoffs.

Domain Experience (Title & Data Products)

  • This role requires prior experience operating in the title industry or closely adjacent public-records or regulated data domains. Successful candidates will be comfortable working with complex, accuracy-critical data products that support real-world operational workflows.
  • Hands-on experience working in or closely with the title ecosystem, such as a title insurer, large agent, data provider, or title-focused technology platform.
  • Working understanding of how title and public-records data is structured, indexed, and maintained, including how jurisdictional variation in recorder practices and document standards impacts data quality, search behavior, and chain-of-title outcomes.
  • Experience owning or contributing to document- or record-based data products, particularly where data is derived from semi-structured or unstructured sources and used in operational or decision-support workflows.
  • Familiarity with core title data challenges such as linking parties, properties, and records over time, and supporting confident decisions when data is incomplete, inconsistent, or ambiguous.
  • Comfort operating in accuracy-critical and regulated environments where product decisions have direct downstream operational, financial, or compliance implications.
  • Familiarity with title policy structures and operational handoffs across search, examination, clearance, and closing.

Nice to Haves

  • Background in real estate, geospatial data, risk modeling, or large-scale public-records platforms.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS or data platforms serving institutional clients.
  • Exposure to modern AI/ML techniques applied to data-intensive or workflow-driven domains.
  • Familiarity with industry trends related to title, eRecording, or adjacent real estate technologies.
  • MBA or advanced degree a plus, but not required.

Additional Details

  • Reporting Line: Reports to Director, Title Products, Division Product Management.
  • Location / Work Mode: Hybrid in Santa Ana, CA, or remote with periodic travel.
  • Travel: Approximately 10–20%.
