What We Do

Leverage your love of history and customer service to help provide solid information to our teams and customers in the commercial real estate space. The National Commercial Services division of First American is looking to add a Sr. Commercial Title Officer to our growing team in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting supporting the team in a variety of ways including performing closings for commercial transactions ranging from single site to high-liability multi-site, analyzing records and data, contributing key information that is critical to the transaction process. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating the resolution and completion of the commercial title process.   Come be part of the most successful company in the industry, leveraging the best technology and strongest escrow and underwriter partners, where we are transforming the commercial real estate experience one deed at a time.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Facilitate the closing of complex and high value commercial real estate transactions by determining requirements; clearing titles; assembling, preparing, and reviewing closing documents. Comply with requirements in buyer, seller and lender escrow instructions. 
  • Act in an advisory capacity with underwriting team; use technical bulletins and other resources to evaluate and resolve problems. Decisions regularly involve resolving unique and complex situations. 
  • Serve as a liaison between parties, underwriters and customer relationship professionals on matters that require escalation. 
  • Review and approve a variety of documentation including deeds, operating agreements, bylaws, trusts, wills, affidavits of heirships, corporate resolutions, partnership agreements, and other entity governance documentation.
  • Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite the issuance of title insurance. Prepare summary of underwriting decisions to document files.
  • Collaborate with escrow professionals on creation and finalization of settlement statements. Collaborate with relationship managers on satisfaction of customer needs.
  • May price commitments, endorsements, policies and guarantees using predetermined schedule of fees and charges.
  • May be team leader for a unit consisting of title and escrow professionals or other staff; may provide input to staff selection, performance feedback, training support.
  • Form and maintain business partnerships with clientele.  May participate in business development activities to maintain existing clients and acquire new clients and attend customer visits with sales personnel and/or provide formal training/classes.

  • Thrives in contributing to a team working together to deliver beyond customer expectations. Comfortable guiding others as they grow in the field 
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite and ability to quickly adapt to new software applications and technologies  
  • Flexible with the ability to multi-task and handle all aspects of title support  
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • 5-7 years of commercial title related experience preferred

Pay Range: $65,550-$87,375 Annually
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting.  Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
